from what i can see they just unplug from the 4 wire socket then screw out, is that all you need too know and do you go at it from underneath the car or thru the engine bay usually?
looks a bit cluttered too go at it from ontop too me , also they shouldnt be siezed or anything as i had extractors done 6 months ago roughly and they were taken out then.
also if i check them first before going too buy new ones what do i look for? are they sooty black if your car is running rich or is there any other signs that they are either kaput or ok?
Its a lot easier to get them out if the oxygen sensors are hot, like after running the engine, but be careful not to burn yourself.Ive seen people snap these off when trying to get them out while they are cold.
Passenger side is easily accessed from the engine bay - drivers side from beneath the car
The sure fire way to check them is to monitor cross-counts and voltage using an aldl cable. If they are sooty black then it may indicate a problem with the sensor, earthing problem leaky injector and a range of other things. If the car has done some km's and never been replaced, there is an excellent chance they need replacing anyway.
thanks for the advice, i will be doing them after a 30k drive so ill give it 30 mins then have at it.
