Default Replaced my 4HDD box in my VR with a 6HDD

as the title states, the motor and trans is all in, ready for everything to be hooked up again, but the trans wires are hooked up, now ive done some reading and heard that the 6HDD box will not work if the previous box was a 4HDD? i hope this isnt true, i dont feel like taking the motor and trans out for the 3rd time,, all the wires are hooked up, linkage is hooked up, torque convertor is all hooked up, all seems fine, ive only started to worry because ive just done some reading up now....

i also should add, this motor (out of another VR) had a 6HDD trans on it in the original car..

when i put the motor in this current car, it ran like a dream, just needed to come out to put a new rear main seal in, found out my 4HDD was stuffed, so i replaced it with the 6HDD.

Nah you shouldn't have any problems. Only diffecerents is 4hdd has 12 pins and 5,6hdd has 13 pins

Not sure but is the 13th wire somthin to do with the torque converter lockup? If so you may find it may not lockup. But if it all works when you drive it then i wouldnt worry about what you have read. Proof is in the pudding.

mate, the vs ecotec is more advanced within the wirring compered to the buick's if you were to change the box it would be recomended that you change to a vs auto pc before you try selling it, you may need to also change the engine wiring loom but you could normaly get them modified.
if i were you i would have thrown a manual t5 in while the engine was out thats what i did to my ecotec, the t5 was not ment for an ecotec getrag. but hey if u have the patience, do it right the first time to avoid head f***'s works a treat.
    wish u luck man.

When you put the torque convertor in, did you spin it till it locked one way, then spin the opposite way, til it clicked, then a 3rd time????
You have to do that to lock the convertor in.
i thought it wouldn't work, still we can only try and hope!!!!!

If your convertor was not in properly you would have probably busted the pump and wouldn't get any gears.
