It might be the radiator cap seal is stuffed or a weak cap spring.Try a new cap.

Make sure your thermo fans are working properly. Does the temperature gauge show that you are overheating either when you are moving or stopped in traffic?

+1 for rad cap means i agree with brett... try replacing your radiator cap as it sounds the spring or seal has shit its self in yours.

A cap should last that long, maybe yours is just a faulty one.It would be worth trying a new one, just so you can rule it out and know that its not a dodgey cap causing the problem. And new ones are cheap to buy.You can test the thermo fan, just disconnect the temperature sensor wiring from the sensor near the thermostat housing(its the one with the plug, not the single wire sender near it)and start the engine. The fan should come on to slow speed after around 12 seconds, then after a further 6 seconds the fan should switch to high speed. If it does this its working ok.Also you might try replacing the thermostat.(again a cheap part to buy)They can cause problems when they get old.Especially if proper coolant hasnt been used in the radiator. If you are still having trouble after doing all this ,then I would be getting the cooling system pressure tested. You can get this done cheap at any decent workshop, this test will tell you if anything else is up with the cooling system.
