    Default Speedo issues

I'm having issues with my speedo being out, it is approximately 6kmph slow, so if i am going 100 on the speedo i'm actually doing 106, originally i presumed there was issues with my diff. However i have just discovered that my "Speed Alert" device is accurate, wouldn't they both run off the same sensor? Could it be that my speedo has built up gunk or something in the past?

    Any ideas would be great.

The speedo can be + or - a few k's from factory. The needle is easily bumped or moved off zero.

How is it at 60 and 80?

When i am on 60 it is around 67, it slightly worse on that speed, not to sure about 80 however, is that something to do with gear?

How do you go about bumping the needle?

    Cheers.

I reset speedo needles all the time. Most sit just above zero so when in the car they look like they are on zero. Is the needle sitting on zero when stopped?

    To change it:

cluster out of the car - lens off, then with a forlk pop the needle off and then reset it onto the spindle well above zero and nudge it back down.

It looks like you have solved the mystery. My cars speedo pin sits a good 6 - 7kmph space under the zero, and i compared it to my mates commodore and his is just under the zero. So obviously that would have to be the problem. Just had never noticed until now.

Cheers man! I'll go have a play with it on wednesday.
