    Default crank shaft problem???????

    there is knocking noise coming from crank shaft area???? could it be a crank shaft problem or harmonic balancer/pulley problem??? motor not loosing power and noise is only there in idle???

    i think its Harmonic balance, its happen to me before since my family member heard it as im deaf... hope this help u cheers

    holdenrocks is probably on the money. To check just watch the harmonic balancer at idle - it should run true as a sure bet on the last race at Flemington. Any wobbles means it's gone. You can also check by trying to lever it with a screwdriver (engine off). If it does look like this is the problem, you should change as soon as possible - if it fails you lose water/air power steering/alternator and are stranded.
