VR lights issues

My Vr's lights have started to play up, first with the lights on, my RH tail light was bright before the brake was pushed and there was no change when the brake was pressed but with the lights off the brake light is dim when the pedal is pressed. I changed the bulbs over to make sure I didnt have the wrong bulb in, now both stay bright when the lights are on and not much change when the brake is applied and when I apply my brakes the dash lights come on. Does anyone have any ideas on this problem or should I just take it to an auto electrician? Thanks in advance

Double check you have the right globes but the problem sounds like an bad earth to me. check all light fittings and associated earths, this could light up dash lights. (globes also only go in 1 way unless forced)

Have had this problem at work. most likely bad earth
Check all the earth points for your tail light circiut clean them or make sure there are secure.
Check your tail lamp contacts clean them if you can. make sure there is no rust.
check all EARTH points mate this is the problem. And make sure you got the right globes

Most likely you have the globes in back to front.
Take a look at the pins on the side of the globe, they are offset.
