hey guys i have a leak on the left side of radiator just below the pipe.obviously i need a radiator lol but this has happened once before recently vertually same place was wondering what it could be from.(pressure) orrr........i dont wana get another radiator if its just gana do it again? has anyone had the same problem anything would be great!..
cheers
Which side do you mean? Driver or passenger? And is it coolant or trans fluid?
I just replaced my (original) radiator, and it turned out that about an inch of the top intake pipe had clean snapped off. I thought it was some kind of hairline crack somewhere at first, but it just turned out that the hose didn't have enough pipe to clamp on to.
driver...yeah was coolant yeah i have checked all my hose they are fine.. im just thinking maybe there is to much pressure when its hot...maybe radiator cap? just stumped atm
Replace the cap with a new one, they only cost a few bucks.
If it is leaking from where you describe, pretty soon it will fail completely and dump all your coolant on the road....this will invariably happen when you are driving through "the bad part of town" and, guess what, your mobile battery is flat. Driving as little as 500 metres with no coolant will cook your engine.
New radiators are as cheap as $100 or less from the wreckers.
I wouldn't think the cap is increasing the pressure as with age they lose pressure if anything plus the usual fail point is a hose.
mine has just cracked on the drivers side right near the fan mount, verry common problem.

Where do you get the aluminum one mate?
