Which side do you mean? Driver or passenger? And is it coolant or trans fluid?

I just replaced my (original) radiator, and it turned out that about an inch of the top intake pipe had clean snapped off. I thought it was some kind of hairline crack somewhere at first, but it just turned out that the hose didn't have enough pipe to clamp on to.

If it is leaking from where you describe, pretty soon it will fail completely and dump all your coolant on the road....this will invariably happen when you are driving through "the bad part of town" and, guess what, your mobile battery is flat. Driving as little as 500 metres with no coolant will cook your engine.
New radiators are as cheap as $100 or less from the wreckers.
I wouldn't think the cap is increasing the pressure as with age they lose pressure if anything plus the usual fail point is a hose.

I got mine repaired at about 180k just below the top radiator hose on the side.

Common problem for it to crack there. When I went to buy a new radiator the guy described the entire crack to me and where it would be before he lifted the bonnet lol.
Not sure if the Alloy tanks would stop this from happening or not.
