Hey bud.
I think you just need to change your memcal to a manual one... although I've read some people have kept the auto memcal but it screws around with the cars idle.
There's a thread in the how-to section about doing a manual conversion... have a look thru that and you'll get an idea of what you're up for

im pretty sure you do, as the wiring loom has different wires in different pins at the ecu, (eg vs v6 speedo changes from pin d2 to d5 i think) you can either go genuine loom and computer to suit the car with your engine and box or there are people who do patch harness's to convert your auto loom to a mod manual one and then change your memcal.

Theres a few ways i think. Im no expert in any of them. One way is to modify the auto loom and have the memcal re-progammed to suit.
The other way is to get a maunual g/box wiring harness and install that and then just get your memcal re-proggrammed with a normal manual tune. This i would think is the preffered method.

I have an auto and maunal ecu here and they are both identicle in size look

im going to call up a wreckers or something for vs series 2 ecu cause there the ones that had the getrag for the 5 litre

The wreckers will more than likely rip you off for like $200 bucks for the ecu or more. Speak to one of the home tuners on this site and just get them to reprogram your current memcal. If you speak to them, like delco wizz or someone they can also give you some straight advice on what exactly you need to do with the wiring also.
