Is the VR V6 PCM compatible with dyno tuning? I know it can be reflashed with a new program while out of the car, but Im not sure if this would be a pissabout and added expense when dyno tuning. Would it be easier if I just got an aftermarket ECU, like a link or something? Suspect the car to be leaning out at WOT because of the funny heads and rockers fitted
If you are talking about the Factory ECM, then no, it is read only.
In saying that, I don't know what a PCM is, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
PCM is the same as the ECM, but controlls the transmission aswell
yes it can be programmed in realtime delcowizzid tuned my v6 turbo with the factory vr ecu with slight internal mods
i use these and some custom bin files also on that site in the custom code section for free has all xdf's and adx files for tuning and logging can auto tune the fuel table while you drive as well all sorts of little goodies vr auto code is a we way away ive tested an early version allready works great.

Wont be bringing the car down till next week, will arrange it then if you are keen?
I was gonna bring it back down last weekend, but found it was getting hot at anything over about 20% throttle - i was worried it would cook itsself if it went closed loop and tried to lean out any more.
It has yella terra roller rockers, I dont know the ratio (YT cant/wont tell me) but the part number is YT6306. I dont know much at all about the heads, other than that they are off a VN and were on a stockcar before i got them. The valves are a few MM larger than stock (cant find where I recorded exact size) and the intake and exhaust ports have been ground out to match the intake and exhaust manifolds.
Sorry about having such little info on them.
