    Default Heater Still on

Ok have a VS Calais, with CLIMATE Control.

Its been getting hot on the bottom vents after a little while of driving around.

I purchased a new Heater Tap thinking that was the problem. But no even if you put the climate control on manual on the coldest setting you can still feel the pipes getting hot with in the car then the heat comes out again!!!

    Any one have any ideas?

Maybe a vacuum leak somewhere, check around the engine for loose or split vac lines .Check the purge cannister lines near the radiator on the right side, and the vacuum reserve bottle under the left front guard,it looks like a plastic ball thing,it has a vacuum line going to it.It could be leaking vacuum behind the dash also.Someone else here might be more help if its behind the dash,Ive never had a lot to do with the climate control systems.

check your vacum lines and maybe the blend air door is jammed , the pipes will always be warm just a heat transfer from the coolant .

Wrong. if the heater tap is working correctly the pipes never get hot. There is no flow of coolant so no heat.

Yes. Good point. Unless you've switched the heat on however briefly, the pipes will stay warm until you switch it to cold and the water in those pipes has had about an hour to cool down...

it will be the vacumme control box behind the dash

    Holden part#92140248

To install you pop the plastic surround out around your gear selector then undo 3 screws at the bottom of the face place, then pop the faceplate off and you can then see the vacumme box up the back, just a matter of unplugging the old unit and plugging in the new one.
