hi, my tps is logging code 21 when i give the car a hit WOT, i have checked the sensors resistance making sure the contact from closed throttle to full throttle is a consistent ascending reading which it is.
my question is what resistance values should i see on a 20k scale at closed and WOT on my 5 litre as i may need to reposition it due to having an aftermarket manifold?
cheers
EDIT: i put a multimeter on it to check voltages now and i have the following figures:
closed throttle = 1.1v (prob coz i have my car throttle screw adjusted a lil high to compensate for the big cam)
Wide throttle = 4.8v
i am now stumped as to why code 21 has appeared as i thought these voltages were acceptable, can anyone help please
Try resetting the ECU by removing the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds. Then after a day or so run the codes again. It may just be a simple glitch.
should be like 0.5 volts closed throttle

tried disconnecting my battery no luck. Delco my closed voltage would read higher than normal because my throttle stop screw is allowing my throttle to be a lil open to raise my idle rpm due to my cam.
im only worried that WOT i have tested it to be 4.8v but still it flicks the check engine light on when i go WOT and shows code 21, this is within spec isnt it???
its probably getting confused all due to the idle screw being in too far it zero's itself at key on but with it so high at closed throttle its gonna be wondering whats going on

I think 4.8v is too high for full throttle. From memory I think it is supposed to be below 4.6v at WOT.

oh ok thanks guys, i might elongate the screw holes and see if i can adjust the position to giv it a false reading, cheers
