Has anyone had their v6 t5 equiped vr or vs suddenly make some clutch squealing noises and develop a vibration through the pedal but only when the engine is running...engine off no vibration clutch seems normal?.....Im thinking broken pressure plate fingers or dud throwout bearing? I gave it a little boot from a standing start (didnt drop it) and while it took off ok it made a little clunking noise....I noticed the noise and vibration after that Clutch is 4 years old and was a repco unit....the clutch itself actually works fine

Sounds like a busted pressure plate.
Get an Exedy one next time.

Ok put in the excedy ,replaced spigot bush looked all good...pressure plate fingers were worn where the throwout was running against it...squeal was the throwout bearing outer surface that doesnt spin running against fingers .No shutter but the vibration is still there...nowhere as bad but just annoying....im leaning towards the front bearing retainer snout surface which was worn on one edge maybe allowing the throwout bearing to move a bit and vibrating through the pedal....the bloke at the gearbox place said it was ok but im not sure now...any ideas?

Yes got it machined and the actual clutch operation is fine ...no shutter...and smooth on take up just the vibration that the cable is putting on the pedal just as you push it in ...it actually gives the brake pedal a litttle vibration if you have your foot off the clutch pedal.
The bearing retainer and snout on the front of the gearbox was worn ..like I said in the post above it might be causing the throwout bearing to move enough at light clutch pressures to vibrate enough to send it back to the pedal...I was just wondering if anyone else has found this? Car has a over 300 on the clock and has a few noises but it goes ok...just love to track this down as Im sure im not alone.

Asked this question to a company up in queensland that specialises in these gearboxes and he said it will be the bearing retainer like I thought and also I should use a better throwout bearing with a steel carrier(not plastic) ...anyone used the different type of throwout bearing? The retainer is a exchange job so I am assuming they machine or press out the old worn piece and press the new in .Anyone had this done?
