Default direction of cooling system flow

What way does the water flow through the system? Is the bottom hose hot water return or cooler water need to plum a water cooled turbo to cooling system. any one know a way of doing this? i was going to have the return from the turbo spliced into the bottom raditor hose or the metal tube that goes into the water pump

the coolant travels from the bottom hose, through the engine, and then comes out to the top hose
