    Exclamation over charging?

    hi i got a vr 3.8 that the battery light stays on unless idleing its putting 18-20 volts! what would the problem be?and where is the regulator located?

    The voltage regulator inside the alternator sounds like its stuffed,they can be replaced,or you can just replace the whole alternator with a reconditioned one.If the voltage reg is gone the rest of the alternator is probably just as worn out.(bearings etc).

    would the regulator be that black thing that gets pluged into on top at back (alternator is in good con)

    As above, the regulator is mounted on the rear of the alternator and is the cause of the problem.

    18-20V!!!!

    That burning smell is your PCM and BCM!
