Hey,
I know fiting pacemakers has been covered many times, however i cant find the answer to my question.
I just bought some 2nd hand pacies, and i would like to fit them as soon as they arrive, so im trying to get everything together so i can,
What do i do about a gasket? Is the gasket i use for the pacemakers the same as the gasket i use for the standard exhaust manifold? Or do i need a specific one? Or do i use that gasket goo stuff? Also do i need new bolts? (Longer/shorter?)
Thanks
use normal replacement gasket. I also suggest dummy the gaskets up to the extractor head plates and check if you need to grind the gasket holes out a little, had to do it on mine.
use a good qulity ultra high temp, sensor safe gasket maker just to help seal it up. works a treat.
the stock bolts should be fine so long as the threads are clean and in good condition. A little bit of anti seize compound on the threads helps.
Oh, and lastly... As they are 2nd hand, if the paint looks shabby its worth repainting them as paccies tend to start rusting up on the surface as they age. Bit of steel wool to clean them up, once over with wax and grease remover and some high temp flame proof ceramic paint. done
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

i got sum seconhandies aswell, but i think ill get exhaust shop to fit them as u neeed to do welding (the flangs) and ive never welded brefore so yeh haha
If the pacies are for a vs im not sure why you would need to get the flanges welded up.....
I've never used gaskets when fitting extractors, just another thing that can go wrong. When I fit them i use a high temp rtv sealent (in a red tube) never had a leak.
Your pacies will bolt up with little hassle, apart from trying to get past the abs to tighten the studs!
Good luck.
thanks for the advice..
Im guessing he means on the Y-Pipes?If the pacies are for a vs im not sure why you would need to get the flanges welded up.....
If anybody knows how much shorter im supposed to make them could you please let me know..
You'll need a custom Y-peice made up if they dont already come with one.
Exactly, when the Pacies are bought brand new, they come with a bolt on Y piece that fits perfectly, if you don't get the Y piece when you buy them second hand then you will need to fit a custom Y piece or weld it down to size, which ever floats your boat with the motion of the ocean.
hmm,
i just downloaded the installation guide and it has this at the end of it..
Also where would i be able to get the proper pacemaker Y-piece? Because ive searched and cant even find any evidence that they exist..
