Hey there, the reason I'm writing here is when it comes to my car my knowledge is average, I know some basics but that's it. I'm a chef it's a bit hard to fix a car with a knife and a raw bit of meat, I wish it was thAt easy! Recently I have had my head reconditioned bearing done cylinder heads thermostat and gasket and a few other tiny things fixed all in one hit, hurt the pocket I'll tell u that. Today I noticed when I parked a hissing sound from underneth the engine, I noticed water dribbling out, and that sound was water on a hot pipe I believe. It's not constant and it does stop. What am I to make of this? And should I be concerned?
It could be the drain from the air conditioning dripping onto the exhaust, was the AC on at the time? The AC will drip towards the rear of the engine near the transmission and should be water, not coolant. If the drip is near the front of the engine or looks like coolant then it definitely needs further investigation. If your not sure about it,go get someone to check it out for you.Cheers.
Agreed ^^^^^^
If its got Wheels or Boobs its gonna cost ya money
I think that would sound about right, it is at the rear of the engine and it's just water, thanks heaps cheers
I'd also be inclined to check the heater tap as well - it's in the right position to drip on the exhaust when the coolant is hot and there is pressure in the system - when it cools there is no pressure and the leak would stop. They can start with a slow leak and then disintegrate. Also seeing as you've had cooling problems with the head etc, the heater switch may also be dicky.
