hi all,
i have been having a problem where the odomter resets it self to 555,555
after a while the odomter would go back to the original reading, last week it jumped up to 555,555 again, it would not go back and the kilometers kept on building up!
today i pushed in the odometer and was able to get it to reset to 555,555 but then it went back to the origianl number of kilometers but this time it was 555,670 so now it is stuck on that reading! any help please!!!
i would remove it and send it off to a repair place, sounds like a intermint short in the dash
yeah man i rang gauge works down here in geelong and he said to try find a second hand one and he can re program the kilometers on it! so i just gotta find one asap!
This is a common problem with them. Though I can't remember exactly why it occurs, you can get someone to reset it though (as its a lvl.3 cluster, yes?)
yeah i am assuming its a level 3 cluster as it has the three windows down the bottom.
if i push it in hard then it resets so could it be the loom or a cable is not plugged in properly??
hey everyone,
i found a level 3 dash that look sidenticle to what i need, but its out of a vp berlina or a calais? cant remember, any ways would that still fit with all the looms and such?
not sure if you've tried this but reset your ecu, take the battery off for a good 10 minutes or so.
nathans VY Calais - 'Calais 2.0' | VT Equipe | VS Calais **SOLD!**
I have a spare working Lvl 3 cluster from a VR berlina. Pm if your interested.
Pm'd...
i cant wait for it to read normal again, and having so many kilometres showing wil not help it sell!
also does anyone know if a v8 dash cluster would still work?
Any VR/VS trip computer will fit your cluster. easy swap and then you wont have an issue with the V8 tacho.
The 555,555 is a default reading when the ODO chip is replaced or fails to read properly. If you take the ODO chip off the PCB it will show 555,555. It's a security aspect of the trip computers to stop people from changing the ODO chip on the PCB as the check sum is not correct for that trip computer.
