Sorry if this has been asked and answered here already, searched the forums but couldn't find any answers that fitted really.
Got 235/45/17 Toyo Teo tyres on the car and it rides a little harsh, got a mate who's wife bought him some brand new 225/55/17 Toyo Teo's for his birthday, nice wifey, but he wants wider tyres with lower profile. So, he wants to do a swap with me and I was wondering how to recalibrate the speedo and also perhaps the odometer as with the new tyres, according to some calculations, the speedo will be reading 100kmh but in reality be doing almost 107kmh and thats not good with plod around here with an itchy pen. If the difference was the other way around it would still be bad but not AS bad of course.
Any advice as always is appreciated.
I believe it can be fixed via a converter box of some sort. Cant remember what it was called tho.
Delcowiz on this forum or was it immortality did a write up on this some time ago - maybe shoot them a PM - they may have it bookmarked.

Finally got the Statesman up on a hoist and took a shoofty and some things were confirmed, namely the car has heavy duty shocks fitted to it ergo the towbar and thus contributing to the harsher ride. I fear the HD shocks and 235/45/17 tyres aren't good together so something has to give methinks.
Anyhoo, I have a mate who has 225/50/17 Toyo Proxes 4 tyres on his statesman so we swapped wheels and went for a drive in each car. His car became rough and jittery like he has never seen or experienced he said and was quite shocked really at the difference. He has also had heavy duty shocks fitted for towing interestingly so the mix of the two is surely a bad marriage and one of them has to go.
When driving my car with his P4's on it I was amazed at how much smoother and more forgiving the ride had become, but with no noticable loss of handling, control, grip or quietness. And it turns out the 225/50/17 P4's have a rolling diameter very close to what my current tyres are now, well close enough for me to not have to bother about any speedo calibration needed so I will be getting those size tyres. Anyone have a preference between the Toyo Teo Plus and Proxes 4 tyres? They look radically different and the Proxes 4 although supposedly more of a performance tyre do have a softer sidewall design and a thus more comfortable ride ensues which is good for touring and everyday driving which is my main criteria. Decisions decisions.
Aaaahhhhhhhhhh the eternal fiddling around has begun, lol.
