    Default Painting

hi, was wondering how much a average paint job on a VS statesman would cost?

also if the original paint isnt dammaged but you just want a change of colour, will this make it cheaper? or is there a cheaper option.

what are the preparation steps involved in getting a car painted, are there any things to do that will make it cheaper to paint.

will colours make a difference? i was thinking either black or white, will one be cheaper or the same?

    thankyou

also, if i go from a colour like the dark teal colour (botanica i think its called) to just the dark blue, because they are very similar colours could this be done cheaper with less coats or somthing ?

Same colour resprays are always the cheapest
Spray jobs start at maybe maybe maybe $3000 for closed door same colour with some self prep done
    real jobs from maybe $4500 - $8000
the whole car has to be rubbed back, or if same colour roughed up so the primer, paint etc will stick.

Generally white is easiest to spray, black is much harder.. but the factory colour will most likely be the cheapest.

    Good luck mate.

blacks also easy to spray, light metallic's are the hardest to spray, silvers etc prep work has to be perfect for light metallic colours

Only problem with black and other dark colours are they will show up imperfections like dents and ripples a lot more than a light colour will.

White is by far the easiest colour to prep for and spray, so long as your going solid white and not pearl. Im not a huge fan of spraying white base coats with pearl over.
