recall on hubs off ebay?

Hi all, about a year ago i got a couple of hubs off ebay, brand new, which at the time sounded like a good buy. Just the other day i went to get a wheel balance and got told that the two front hubs were stuffed and needed to be replaced but hang on i just got new ones less than 10,000k ago. so i took em off and put some second hand ones on and you know what these were in better nick than the new ones, no play, no wobble at all. my question is was there a recall on hubs anytime in the last year as i have seen a few posts hinting that there was but nothing to confirm it. also these replacements hubs i have now dont look the same as the ones off of ebay, on the inside of them is what appears to be a bolt not a pressed piece of metal, does this mean that they can be taken apart and refitted and greased?

I'm only guessing but I would say that you will never see a recall on any aftermarket part whether bought from Ebay or wherever, however major companies with reputations to protect do issue recalls and they can be viewed at: Home

There are even a couple for VS Commodores in there.
Re disassembling the hubs - it cannot be done under normal conditions....a few people have tried....and failed.
