Default VX/VY/VZ Clubsport brakes on VS

    G'day all ,

i was wondering if anyone has looked into or has done this sort of upgrade?, putting VX/VY or VZ clubby brakes on there vs...

as my SS really doesn't want to stop, the brakes are useless and are even worse with the new 19 inch wheels i put on acouple of weeks ago.

if someone has i would like to know, how much did you pay for the brakes ? (ether from wrecker, or shop ) did you have to modify anything to fit them on ? . how long did it take you or the person who installed them ?.

you input would be much appreciated

    Cheers

    Hi mate,

Unless you're talking about the Harrop's or AP, late model HSV only ran the std Commodore caliper, or the C5 Corvette caliper (most Clubsports were just the C5 caliper), neither of which would be better than a VE conversion. The VE also has smaller pistons which means you don't need to change your master cylinder. 322mm rotors on twin pot VE calipers with decent pads will be MORE than enough:

With the VE brake upgrade having smaller pistons, do you need to change the brake booster as well? Or is it basically just new calipers and new rotors?

Sorry, I meant smaller pistons than VT or C5 calipers. The VE piston volume works well with std VS booster/master.

This may seem like a retarded question, but even with smaller pistons, does that make the VE brakes alot more responsive and alot quicker braking than a VT brake upgrade?
