also have a weird ticking noise from iac on throttle body
turn on ignition and lights come up up and it starts ticking ..then stops
put a iac off vn throttle body and still does it..(they look the same)
is this normal..and any suggestions?????
try swapping your EFI relay with your high beam (assuming high beams working ok)
See if that makes any difference.
Not so sure on the V6 but on the V8 if the relay fails the fuel pump takes power from the oil pressure switch, so the engine wont fire up until its turned over a few times and gets the oil pressure up a little.
Worth a try ;-)
ill try that westbad thx...let u know how it goes tomorrow
Make sure the transponder on the key is touching the metal strip and is making good contact. The power from the reader completes a circuit through the contact on the key This powers up the circuit in the key and sends its code to the BCM. And the BCM tells the PCM to start the car
Check the fuel pressure from the fuel pump. How old is your fuel filter if its old change it.
And the injectors might be dirty have them cleaned.
ok
had the fuel pump checked ..all good
the key to metal strip is all good
fuel filter changed
will b doing injectors..
still hard to start(kicks over after 5-9secs instead of straigth away)....and is chugging intermitently(every 5th drive or so)
efi relay not make any difference then..??
west bad my new jesus![]()
sorry for the delay guys
wasnt efi relay..changed it and no difference
changed dfi and coil packs
changed cas ..the old 1 was a bit melted under 1 of the sensors...still didnt fix the problem though
changed the starter motor...the old 1 was on its way out...turning iva faster but still hard to start
was in town the other day and wouldnt start at all
aaargh
i love my commodores but this is @#$%ing me
You might try another ECU,you have changed just about everything else, so try swapping it for a known good one.I had a problem with my high speed cooling fan,the last thing I would have thought to be causing it was the ECU,but after testing ,swapping parts and trying everything else,I tried another ECU and problem fixed.
well...the csa was slighlty melted under the last prong...so my guess is it was working but not ...and n ot showing any faults...replaced it
went and got a proper diagnostic from te mech and the spark plugs the auto shop sold me where the wrong 1s and 1 was faulty...go figure!!!
and the anti theft system has a fault
thx for all the help guys....love this site
