i have just brought a new clutch cable, when i dropped the plastic cover under ths colum
it looks like a nightmare to get your hands in the to undo the clutch pedal-etc.
all plastic aircond ducting doesnt seem to want to pull apart?
cant see how you could get a spanner on the clutch pedal bolt?
Is there a trick/ easy way to perform this job? (VS V8 T5 1997)
you dont need to undo anything, just move the clutch pedal around til you unhook the end, do the same with the box end and then reverse the procedure
i need more room, i have tryed going in with the fuse box cover trim down not enough room for my hands which are fairly small.
cant go up from the pedals as theres a cover that needs to be removed?
i can barely see the cable with a torch, let alone get my hand in there.
sounds like a streight forward job when you read the repair manual? (max ellerys)
i must be doing something wrong
It is a nightmare without removing anything. Remove the air duct next to the clutch pedal (one phillips head screw) then undo the clutch pedal bolt (13, 14, 15mm?) and remove the clutch pedal. By far the easiest way. Just remember the orientation of the pedal spring prior to removal.
AFAIK VN-VS is the same.
thanks, will give it a go.
Oh yeah, and if it wasnt already obvious you need to remove that black plastic cover (series of screw type clips) and the metal bracket securing the fuse panel (3-5 phillips head screws).
Overall not that difficult. Just time consuming.![]()
