Ok, so i want to get my exhaust done. I got a few quotes for $380 supplied and fitted. But i can buy almost the exact same thing for $250 delivered to my door.
My question is, how hard is it to install to my car, its IRS. Does it need welding? or does it just bolt up there?
Thanks
i thought the same thing but what they can do with a hoist in 1 hour could take you all day
its best just to give em the cash and drive away. if you have a hoist then try it, not that hard if not forget about it.
i went through this few weeks back when i purchased a stock sysytem from red back it still was out by a few inches and without a hoist or the tools there was little i could do.
Exhausts aren't too hard and don't require a car hoist, though a hydraulic jack and chassis stand will save you a bit of time, ramps are also worth their weight in gold.
You are just talking cat-back system right. If the system is a simple bolt-on system then its just a few bolts.
And green5.7 I don't know about you but if I can save $130, even if it takes me all day, then I'll do it.

well time is money and when i went through this a few weeks ago at the end off the day (with my exp few weeks back) id would have rather paid the guys at the exhaust joint, and i work on cars all day every day for past 7 years
You work on cars yet you would rather pay someone else to fit an exhaust....
To fit the VS IRS system, 2 bolts behind the cat, two rubbers above the front muffler, one clamp behind it, then two rubbers at the rear just under the rear bumper. All of 20 minutes....10 minutes on a hoist.
To the OP, what system are you wanting? One with a rear resonator or one without?
all i was saying is i work 6 days a week earning good money building other peoples cars and exhaust is not my specialty never done one myself...
Never too late to learn. Bolt on exhausts are probably one of the easiest things to do on a car. Not much that can go wrong.
