    Default Vr 5Ltr Timing Help

Hey guys just picked up my vr 5ltr bout 3 weeks ago, now i was told that the motor came out of a vs senator im not sure if its a 185i or a 195i, its dated 96 on the throttle body near the butterfly and runs one knock sensor on the drivers side of the car, other then that i cant tell what it is if anyone could shed some light on that subject would be a great help. Now noticed it was pinging and didnt have the power it should, so went over everything to find the two rear spark plugs on the drivers side of the car were loose fkn dumb**** of a old owner anyways fixed that then i was feeling the dizzy to see if it was clipped on right and it turned really easy, were is the nut to tighten the dizzy? also on the timing mark does it go 2 notches to advance? or on the big line in the middle of advance and retard?

    thanks for any help

Ask the dizzy q again in the V8 section. I think it will be a 185, as i dont think the 195 came out till very late 97 or maybe even 98 when the vt S1 came out. I think it was only the s3 vs utes that got the 195 engine because there was no vt ute for quite a few years after the release of the vt. I maybe wrong though
