How to make my Series 2 Calais look like a Series 1?

ive just relized that some VS Calais' have a different front end with the chrome moulds high already.
so if i did want to get it like that, would i need to get a different front bumper?
or could i just put the chrome moulds where it has provision for it?
cheers

do you mean how the bumpers and sides on the series 1 have the grey going up further then series 2(yours)
if so i think the series 2 is a much better look but i guess everyone has different opinions..
yes you can get it done, removing the chrome striping, painting the bar further up and taking off the side grey moulds and spraying the bottom half of the doors
ye the front bumpers on them are different
calais series1 have a normal commodore bumper painted grey after the strip.
calais series 2 have a different bar, they also have bezels for the foggies, and have a middle insert where the number plate sits.
now u could either find a series 1 bar, but then your left with no fog bezels
or you could paint your bar grey up to the top strip
Personally mate, I can't see why you'd want to turn it into a series one mock up, when the lower silver and series 2 bumper looks much classier IMO.
But if you're dead set on doing it, here's an idea of how it'll look. This is a series one with the foglight bezels attached. Also has an SS skirt kit
Similar for comparison, series two (with no SS kit)

The VZ is here! About time!
Have to disagree, i'm a fan of proper 2 tone, not 1/4 tone (as i refer to it).
Just swap your bumpers for Series 1 items.
The side moulds will just pull off, but they are sikaflaxed on, i wouldn't touch that if it was me tho....

but yes u can get a normal bar and cut bezel holes in it, ppl have done it before, but if your gonna go through that,
why not just paint your current bar to the top, it will be the same thing

thanks for the comments.
yeh the reason i wana do it, is bcoz my future mod is to change the base colour to white.
i love the way it looks with white over grey with the grey up higher.
its my opinion tho.
yeah that's a good idea, just get a full respray and do it all at once.

Might be easier to look for a white series 1 VS Calais and start from there. Ive had one of each (both in Silver Ice) and I do prefer the S2 1/4 tone plus I wanted an L67 so it was easier to sell the series one and buy a series 2 and transfer everything over. Having said that an SS kit on the series 2 would give you more of the grey colour and make the car look lower without being such.
I like how you want yours to look. That white commodore looks real good with the grey like that.

ive got a couple more questions.
if i want it to look like a series 1 front bumper, could i just take off the middle insert where the number plate sits, then get the grey part painted higher and then put the chrome moulds on. would it still look like a series 1?
whats the best method for taking off those side strips on the doors and grey moulds on the bottom of the doors?
and whats the best glue to use for putting on the chrome moulds all around the car?
cheers
