i have a car. a VS. its got a couple of dints, needs new paint, engine @ 330000kms, the roof is falling down. seats are not to nice. what should i do? should i fix it up and fix all this stuff? what can i do about the engine?
or should i sell it and get another one in decent condition?
i planned on painting it black and getting chrome trim around the windows. but i just dont know.
please opinions?
Will be interested to know... My vs has 310 000 ks. Engine ok, needs a few little things done. Body not so good, due to combination of learner driver and stupid ex reversing into fence. But I just can't seem to get rid of it. Has served me so well over the past 7 years! Am looking at a vt or above at tax time, but think I will most likely keep vs and let my daughter run it til it dies.
Guess it depends how much you would have to spend fixing it up compared to buying another one that also could possibly have more problems then the one you already have?
does it run well? do you service it regularly? if so shouldnt worry about the kms its done.
i got it 6 months ago. by the sounds of it it runs well. i have never got it serviced it or really driven it
They are so cheap to buy I'd just get another one. You may get a couple of hundred for the old one. A newer one in decent order will cost about $2500 depending on where you live. In Toowoomba I've seen a VP for $1900 and also a VT series2 for $4000 both with RWC and rego and in reasonable order.
Buy private too.
Good Luck.
Painting would be the most expensive out of the lot.
Fixing up your roof lining that is sagging is easy and cheap, theres a great guide on how to fix it on here in the how-to section. Any nice looking material from spotlight does the trick.
i can get it painted for about $1500. if i cant find anything major wrong with it i think i will keep it. for now i just have to paint it, fix the roof and possibly replace the seats. in a couple of years time i could put a new engine in it when i have a full time job
look 4 another mate
