Ok, so i have a issue, I just got my car yesterday, It is a VR Excecutive Series II and im trying to do as much as i can myself before i go try get a roadworthy. One thing i have noticed is that the selector for the aircon is not working, it is stuck on foot, does anyone have any ideas on what to do. I have already disconnected all the vacuum hoses because i was told by a friend that if you do that behiend the switch it should automatically go to the demister if it is the switch, but i cant think of anything else it could be but the switch.
Anyone have any idea?
First try putting all the vacuum lines back on otherwise you are just stabbing in the dark. When my aircon switch broke (fell apart) it defaulted to the foot/floor just as yours has. You will need to check all the vacuum lines from the inlet manifold to the vacuum reservoir to the bulkhead and to the switch. If you can ascertain that all those are OK you can then look at the actual switch and the hoses going from the switch to the vacuum controls.
I'd also do a search on this forum to get as much background information as is possible.
Good Luck.
after putting all the vac lines back, run thru the climate control self-diagnostic check:
(see How to Diagnose Climate Control Faults )
This will identify the problem fir sure.
You've probably got one or more bad vac solenoids.
bro he has an executive, its not climate control.
yer thanks anyways, i really wish this is something i could fix myself but i might need to take it in to get looked at
