I need some more help, I own a VR exec Series II, when i plant the foot down (testing purposes only i just bought it) it goes up to 40kmp/h then it starts to rev out until i back off abit then it starts to pick up, any ideas?
I have already changed all the leads and plugs
transmision slipping maybe?
if the engines reving out its not leads or plugs , try it in 1st 2nd and 3rd aswell and see if it does it.
It could be your throttle position sensor (TPS) as well (cheaper).

ok so because of dodgy wiring of the gas system i had to correct the wiring, they cut into one of the leads, so i found where it should be connected and connected it, it was backfiring before i changed them, it seems the backfiring issue was fixed when i changed the plugs and leads, which made me think to test the car, when on gas and the pedal is planted the car goes hard and doesnt rev out therefore it wouldnt be the transmition? which makes me think it might be a blockage somewhere?
I read the following off this site which 'hako' provided:
2. 1-2 shift does not happen at WOT until you let off the gas: Best case: try replacing the TPS. Middle case: leak in the 2nd gear apply circuit (servo assembly or 1-2 accumulator). Doublecheck by using the pressure gauge and watch for a big drop when the PCM commands 2nd gear. Worst case: poor line pressure rise (see below).
does anyone think this would still apply, because it runs fine on gas?
Can you confirm whether it runs OK on petrol or gas or neither.....unfortunately your post says "because it runs fine on gas?" and "when on gas and the pedal is planted the car goes hard and doesnt rev out"
which kind of contradict each other the way I read it.
If it runs OK on one or the other, it will NOT be the transmission.![]()
ok yeah sorry for confusing you, it does run fine on gas, just not on petrol
Possibly your fuel filter blocked and/or dirty injectors. I'd do the filter first as it's the cheapest.
