steering groaning noise ( again )

can someone please post a pic of where im supposed too oil up to get rid of the groaning noise that comes from the steering column?
i was told its at the edge of the firewall but theres housing or someshit there , also is wd40 ok?

its a grommit in the firewall where the steering shaft comes through.
sorry i dont have pics
use grease, wd will just dry out eventually

so i have to take off the housing on the engine bay side to get at it then?

No you dont have to take anything apart. Shine a torch on the drivers side firewall and you should see where the steering column comes through. It has a rubber grommet/boot around it. Best thing to use in my opinion is the aerosol spray grease. Need to try get it as far up the rubber boot as you can. Hope that helps.

yeh that does help, i was trying to get at it from the wrong side doh!

i did it with a screwdriver from under the car.
if you do it this way please use car stands or drive it on ramps.
