    Default Make steering tighter?

    Hey,
Ive got a s1 vs ute, i havnt really noticed until now that ive driven a couple of other cars how loose my steering is, i was just wondering what i can do to tighten it up a bit? I have seen the polyurethane bush kits etc on ebay but im not really sure if replacing the bush's would do much?

Also i have a squeak coming from the back end when ever i go over large bumps, i was wondering what i can do to help this?
    Thanks
My 5SPD VS UTE!! Now wrecking

The steering rack is probably worn and needs replacing if there's heaps of free play...

worn struts will be sloppy, swaybar links may add to it. not sure if castor rod bushes have any effect but it can't hurt to replace all bushes - you'll only see an improvement in handling

If when stationary, you can move the wheel quickly from left to right repettively with a fair bit of free play (until it engages, or 'clunks', or the actual wheels dont move much initially) then either you've got a dud rack or one or both of the tie rods are worn.

Other htings that could effect the steering quality whislt driving will basically be ANY worn suspension component... some more so than others... in addition to the things theforgotten mentioned, also check the strut top bearings....
