    Default Light scratches in Windscreen

Hi all, I blew a wiper today & have slight scratching on the screen. Anyone know if or how to get it out, polish of some sort perhaps????
    Thanks in advance.

Wet steelwool is your best bet.
Or some 1200grit wet'n'dry might work also.

    yea as neet suggested.

though it depends on how light it is.
might get away with some cut n polish.

As long as the scratch isn't too deep the best method is to use toothpaste on a dry cloth and rub in a circular motion. Whitening toothpaste is best. Jewellers rouge is what the glass people use but not everyone has this at home.
I personally would not use steel wool or wet and dry - they are too abrasive and will leave a surface covered in tiny scratches.
    Good Luck.

WET steel wool works perfectly fine. Obviously you wouldn't use dry steelwool.

We used to get alot of cars that had scratched windscreens and FROM EXPERIENCE, not personal opinion it works perfectly fine, and in no way leaves scratched in the surface

If their really bad like mine then the windscreen needs replacing.

Although im sure obriens glass should be able to fix it.
They do a good job of hiding chips so i dont see why not.

I'll try some steel wool and see how it goes on glass - I'll use the really fine 0000 grade and not the pot scrubbing type which apparently leaves "micro scratches" (Google search).
    Thanks for the tip.

I used steelo soap pads once and ended up with many fine scratches.
