Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone can help me out.
I have a vr v6 series 1 and the oil warning light
(or low oil warning light if you will) turns on at low
rpm (close to idle). I have checked the oil level it
is fine. Its had this problem now for a few weeks, at
first the light would come on at 700-800 rmp and turn
off once the revs rised. Recently it stays illuminated up to
1,100-1,200 rpm. The only cause I can think of is that
the oil pump is getting tired. Can anyone help?
Had a similar problem with my VL. Found out the Oil Pressure Sensor was faulty.
Yeah me too, it was oil presure switch and a bad earth
NEVER LATE IN A 355ci
could be a bad switch like mentioned but dont rule out that the oil pump could be stuffed, in saying that if your oil light is on and it has no oil pressure the motor would be catus.
also the oil light can come on if you washed the engine, mine was on for 3 weeks when i did the engine change and all of a sudden it turned off. ( i had oil pressure, tested with a gauge)
Take it to a mechanic who can connect a oil pressure gauge to the engine to check the pressures. It shouldnt cost real much to get this test done.
