Statesman Accelerator cable slack

hey guys,

My Acc cable has about an inch of slack/play in the cable, Should this be like that or has it just stretched over time?

Should have some play and be fairly loose otherwise it causes problems (higher idle etc.). However, 1" sounds excessive. Can be adjusted, just need to remove the engine covers and the front cover to get at the adjustment. Take it for a drive after you adjust and before you put the engine covers back to make sure you haven't adjusted it too much.

Yeah, Iv'e adjusted it before and it made no difference i'm thinking the cable is stretched.
