Default Holden VS overheating problems etc.

    Ayeeeeee

I was wondering, my holden VS seems to be overheating. It will sit on a bit over halfway and then when stopped go up to 3/4 then when driving drop back down to halfway'ish but what worries me more is when I stop and turn off the car the overflow is bubbling because air is being pushed out of the hose from radiator to overflow and there is a lot of pressure in that hose and none in the one from the radiator to the block (main one) also when I bleed the top screw on top of like the block all coolant comes out in like a stream.

    Help plz

Easiest and cheapest is the thermostat. Mine was running like that back in January and I took a punt on the thermostat. Immediate success. Not saying that's your problem but for 10 bucks it's worth replacing.

Same with my VS, which threw me when I first got it, after being so used to my VR rarely getting above 1/4 temp?
I read somewhere in here about changing the coolant sensor to one with a white connector, instead of black, cause white turns the fan on sooner, at a cooler temp apparently?
If your sure your fan is working(mine don't turn on till just over 1/2 temp), then maybe try giving the a radiator good flush, just in case it may be a little blocked?

Go and get the cooling system pressure tested and get the engine compression tested as well. This is the only way to make sure everything is as it should be with the cooling system. These tests are cheap to get done and will tell you if theres any gaskets leaking or blown (usually accompanied by cooling system problems). These engines are known for blowing inlet manifold gaskets or sometimes (but to a lesser degree) a head gasket.

Does the fan come on when when the temp is on half way?
You need to bleed the system. Do this when the motor is cold. Turn the car on and and the heater on and bleed from the bleeder screw.
