Default VR 1994 Indicator doesnt work (Hazard lights work)

    Hi guys,

I noticed today that indicators doesn't work for some reason, hazard lights working, when car is parked lights are working and head lights are working aswell.

The problem is when i press brake, lights doesn't turn on and same when i push down the right/left indicator, nothing comes up on dash board. Before when i pushed down the indicator, i could see yellow arrow in dash board indicating which side lights are on.

I checked the fuse, they seem ok..
Anyone know what could be the problem? If it is easy, i would rather fix it my self, instead of getting ripped off by mechanic.

My apology if this posted before, i checked couple of threads, none had same issue as mine.

    Thanks

If the brake lights are not working either, then its not going to be the blinker switch.Id go back through the fuses, sometimes when a fuse blows its difficult to see and can still look ok.

That's a good point, if brake lights doesn't turn on aswell, then it could be fuse.
I checked all fuse, they look ok, I replaced the hazard light fuse with another one from different socket, still no luck. Hmm it's really hard to know what is wrong, i don't want to waste money on buying wrong stuff.

    Pullout the hazard switch?
You mean the button above tape(when pressed the lights turns on)?

Try the windscreen wipers, their circuit uses the same fuse as the indicators. If the wipers work then you know theres power making it through the fuse, and the problem lies elsewhere forward of the fuse.Fuse 8 is the stop lamps, completely different from the indicators.Maybe look for a connector that has come undone or has a bad connection.Unplug and plug in the main wiring connectors under the dash and under the bonnet a few times, just to make sure they are plugged in properly and have a good connection.Someone else on here would have had similar problems before, maybe try a search through the old posts for similar problems.I cant think of what else you could try.
Was just re-reading your post,do you mean the indicator arrows in the dash ,or the actual indicators at the front and rear of the car?If its just the indicator arrows in the dash not working,it might be blown bulbs.

I will try to use wiper fuse and see how it goes.

The indicator arrows in the dash and the actual indicators at the front and rear of car both not working.

I will try to use wiper fuse and see how it goes.
What I meant was they both share the one fuse in the fusebox which is fuse 14,-Turn signal lamps and windscreen wipers. So if the wipers work, the fuse is not causing the indicator problem.

    Hi
I took out fuse 1 and 2 and 14, and swap them all around. I had fuse 1 and 2 off, and I accidentally pushed the indicator, it worked, then i turned if off and tried to do it again, it didn't work.
Next i put all the fuse back, and gave it two hard slaps, then behold it's working.
I have no idea what was wrong, wiper is working, indicator is working and hazard light is also working.

I had this problem before aswell, i think this problem happens when hazard lights are used, i have no idea what is the connection between them.

I am not sure how long this fix will last.
Anyway thanks guys and Brett jj for the help.

    In the face!

I'm having the same issue, only everything works well until I combine braking with indication. So I try to turn left or right with indicators and while slowing down they won't work the moment I let go of brakes they're working...
