Can anybody help with this problem?

When ignition turned on Engine Managment Light comes of and is very bright, I start the engine OK then the Engine Managment Light glows lightly and remains that way wilst driving.

I have checked for fault codes resulting in "NILL", I have checked my EFI books and nothing listed.

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes.This will reset the ECU.If the engine management light is going from bright to dim the ECU might be cactus.It is usually on brightly when theres an error code logged.Ive never seen one glow dimly before,it should be either on brightly, or completely off.Did the error check show code 12 at all?

Hi Brett jjj,

Thanks for your reply, will disconnect to reset ECU and when I checked codes I got only code 12 which is why I couldn't understand why it is glowing, even checked it at night to see if it was glowing.

I will repost answer when I have reset ECU.

was the car originally auto and been converted to manual???

It's probably running in limp mode by the sounds of things, should be more to this story than meets the eye
