vr ute help

hey jus picked up a vr ute with minor fronted damage, manual pacemakers and CAI

anyways engine check light is on with the following code:

12- ok
22- tps failed low
31- theft deterrent signal missing
36- vacume leak

will dissconnect battery tonight abd is if any clear
and will get a workshop manual today
was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on where to start?

Hi,code 31 is most likely the key head (fob) needs replacing.The key sends a signal to the BCM for security(immobiliser),the battery inside the keyhead goes flat when it gets old.With error code 22,you can clear the error and see if it returns,if it does,renew the TPS.With the vacuum leak Id be checking the hoses at the throttle body and the rear of the inlet manifold.Check the hoses at the purge cannister near the radiator on the drivers side.And under the left front guard theres a black plastic ball looking thing,(its a vacuum reserve bottle)it has a vacuum hose going to it.Check it for cracks or a disconnected vacuum hose.And the brake booster can leak vacuum,if the brakes feel hard to push in,like when the engine is not running,the booster could be stuffed and leaking vacuum.Vacuum leaks can also happen from behind the dash as the heater controls are operated by vacuum and sometimes break and cause problems.

cleared the codes an ran here up quickly, only 22 reoccured so trying to get hold of a replacement and a wiring diagram today
