come on this is a commodore help and chat site isent it
trigger module .
check the ignition module and the coil. chances are one of those two have shit themselves.
Its common for the trigger module to over heat and burn out internally the first rework for the trigger modules was to remount them between the air box and the inner guard behind the LH headlight to help remove as much heat as possible . check your coil too it may have broken down too .
so the trigger and coil may have gone at the same time u think. what happend when it stoped was it was like it was running out of fuel then just stoped .but before that it had a little bit of a splutter when driving and it was like that for a few days but also it only started happening when i converted it to a manual.
trigger module was getting pritty hot like you could not even tuch it
yep id say its cooked . if you open it up i bet it will be brown or black inside the PCB will be well done
trigger module yes coil maybe
cool thanks mate.
by trigger module you mean ignition module right..??
I had the same problem with my ss the other week.. broke down lost spark, it was a busted coil on mine when i managed to get the old coil out from the back of the block it had a crack around it.
Mounted my new one on the fire wall so its easier to get to as its a tight fit where they are mounted from factory.
NEw bosch coil was $77 and problem was fixed, i put a new dizzy cap and rotor button on whilst i was at it total cost $135.
I did try a new ignition module before i replaced my coil tho just for the fact it was the easier part to get at to check 1st, if you have a spare module or a friend who has one try changing it over 1st, there only connected by 2 plugs.
If this doesnt fix your none sparking problem then you need a new coil.
Yes I just pulled my coil of and it was cracked on both sides. But I checked my module first by changing with a friend and no joy so coil came out. Now just have to replace.
