    Default key dead vs....

I left the key out in the lovely rain we had last night for a few mins and now it wont work...
To get the key cut at a lock smith I need the damn car (living 35 mins from a town has its down points)
Does any one know how I can get the key to work again? Yes I've tried the hair dryer method!

Well that wasnt a smart thing to do lol

Atleast you didnt put it through the washing machine like my ex did.

Pry it apart and dry it, glue it back together and it will work again.
Just next time dont wet it

The key sends a signal to the BCM to allow the car to start-(immobiliser).If the keys PCB inside the keyhead gets wet this signal does not get sent.So if the engine wont turn over at all when the key is turned to start, then you can leave the key in the "on" position for 45 minutes(for series 1 VS),or 120 minutes(for series 2 VS).This will bypass the immobiliser and allow you to start the engine and drive it to where ever you want to go to get the key fixed.Remember if you turn the engine off again, you will have to wait the 45 or 120 minutes before it will start again.
