Heya,
Earlier, I asked about what may be causing my "Check Engine Light" to come up and disappear.
Got told to the Check Codes page, and came up with '36' which is...a Vacuum Leak.
Just checked the code/s again to make sure it was only that, and this time, also got '66' which is...'3-2 Shift Control Solenoid Circuit Fault'.
I was just wondering.....
- What is a '3-2 Shift Control Solenoid Circuit Fault'?
- Is it easy to fix? If so, how?
- and, How to fix, and Where to get a new hose/hoses for the Vacuum Leak?
Thanks to all!!
The 2-3 shift solenoid is inside the auto tranny, I don't know if it is accessible by removing the sump pan, like in a toyota, and then replacing it.
As for the vac leak, it could be gasket!
if the vacuum leak is bad enough to trip a code, i would say it would be loud enough to hear. open your bonnet and listen for a hissing sound. if its faint or you have a rough idea where its coming from, smear some engine oil over the gap between the surfaces and check for bubbles. but it may just be a loose hose.
if your not too good with cars its better to send the car to the mechanic to fix the shift solenoid aswell.
good luck
