    Default IRS/Catback System.

    Hey all,

Yea, wondering if my 94 VR Acclaim series 2 would have IRS? looking at a Catback Mandrel bend system (it may need a twin bend) by redback on ebay, for $189 excluding postage. or i'm considering going a mandrel bend system through my local muffler dealer, (carline mufflers NSW) aaaaannndd, also considering doing my own fitting at work, so i have access to all the tools etc etc. but my only probleme would be if they realise another bend needs to be made, in which i couldn't do..

its bout $250 fitting so i'm considering whats best option.

    Ideas all?

When you buy a catback system just make sure its designed for a IRS rear end which would mean it will bolt straight up.

Think you missed the part when he asked if his car had IRS....

Have a look under the back of your car and find out before you order an exhaust as IRS exhaust wont fit live axle or vise versa

    lol ^^
look at your differential ( i hope you know what that is) IRS models will have a rubber boot and drive shafts on each side whereas a solid diff is solid lol

The exhaust goes over the axle on a live axle and under it on IRS. That's the easiest way to tell if you don't know what an IRS diff looks like.

Or you could just say, No a VR V6 doesn't have an IRS rear-end
(unless optioned) _ in which case there will be a badge under the radio that says 'IRS'

yes the Acclaim did come with factory IRS/ABS but i would still double check its got IRS before buying parts that only fit IRS..

for example it could just be a exec with Acclaim badges etc..

It will be IRS but just to be sure look under it, if it looks roughly (alot) like a VW dune buggy then it's IRS. Pretty much a straight copy of the VW design
