hi there ive just converted my vr to a worked vx ecotec i had this setup in a vn and went hard it was using a vs auto loom on a vx engine with a no vats computer and chip and i put a vs manual t5 loom on. just doesnt move as in goes hard, is a getrag ecu the same as a t5 ecu. and what does no vats mean??? i heard it was for a bcm replacement but the vn had a bcm simulator aswell. any ideas

yea got an idea dan get a new car u goose!!!
lmfao might just strip ansd sell the the thing
Without knowing much i would assume the computer thinks the car is in "D" or something, so the startor wont engage, i bet ya if u turn it to ignition and roll start it itll go.
i could be very wrong but thats a common issue with auto -> manual conversions or in your case, manual -> manual conversion lol
check and double check the wiring
What exactly does the car do?
does it show voltage on ignition
does it crank
does it have fuel
does it have spark
id be checking the basics first and then going from there
the cars runs and drives goes hard but it went a lot harder in the vn i have fault codes for auto and injector voltage fault, intermitent speed sensor and needs knock sensors, idels like a bucket and then it picks the revs up and drops back down, cam has a lot to do with it. just would like to know what no vats mean.
i had a injector not firing when i did my conversion check all injector plugs and my vs runs on a vn loom and lovs it
vs loom hey i didnt tihnk to run mine i a vr loom makes sense tho just got to drag the sensors for tps and iac and run a map sensor, she runs on all 6 it had a small exhaust maniflod leak fixed that and runs a bit better i might re-earth the oxy sensors 1 is different to the other it might have somthing to do with it after 20 minutes of ideling it runs ok, im taking the bungs out of the block and putting in the knock sensors, does any1 know what knock sensors do??
if the motor pings it adjusts timing they are good to have vr motors have one vs has two change to the vr manual loom its heaps better
no VATs is the vehicle anti theft turned off so it runs with no bcm .if theres no knock sensors wired in she will be running pretty sluggish will have max timing retard due to them being missing.but as said above swap to vr/vn wiring and ecu.best and cheapest is a vn loom and ecu its the same as vr anyway just easier to find.will need a tune though is the only downfall
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
nice mate helps i got a vs t5 engine loom and just changed the body loom to suit so not changing back to a vr loom i have 1 but its for buick not ecotec. i have a t5 manual ecotec computer in the wind ill get it and put the knock sensors on, little scary to think about she already is a machine.
done the knock sensors and heaps better at idle and more pokey just got to get a manual computer in and see what happens
