G'day
So the plastic lift-up, locking part on my VS's auto selector lever has broken. The spring or whatever that locks it down isn't working and it's pissing me off as I've knocked it into neutral a couple of times now and it just feels like crap with no tension on it.
Is there anyway to fix it? I've pulled the consol apart, and I've tried to remove the rubber knob on the top of the lever but I cant see anyway of getting it off. But even then would I be able to get to the spring or whatever to fix/replace it? Or is it a matter of unbolting the lever and replacing it with a new one entirely?

I've never done it personally, but the book says you need to remove the complete selector from the vehicle to service it. It only involves drilling out the pop rivets and disengaging the selector trunnion under the car. It does mention undoing the selector arm and removing it . If you pm me your email address I can scan the page for you.
Hope this help.
