Feel free to post any parts that you consider common failures that I have missed and I will edit my list. Purchased mine as a 3yo car at 64,000k ...now has 166,000k.
heater tap 220,000
water pump 278,000
You would really need to take into consideration the way the cars are driven and the condition of the parts already. Nothing is really 'designed' to break at a certain time/distance travelled, but obviously things will wear out over time (common parts being water pump, key remotes etc).
heater tap 190000
engine fan motor 200000
boot struts 170000
fuel pump around 200000
Boot struts 0km

You have a pussy, i have a dick, so whats the problem? Lets do it quick!!
Recondition auto transmission 180,000km
Speedo plastic gear.....not yet
Pass side airbag cover lifting.....not yet
Main cable to alternator.....not yet
The rest that VSHeaven posted are about when mine failed.
most of mine died early in the 200,000's waterpump, fuel pump, alternator, heater tap, pullies, radiator etc etc
Im at 260,000km now and doing the intake manifold gaskets and harmonic ballancer/cas this weekend.
I never really flog my car, it is though an April 1995 so it's one of the first ecotec's to roll off the line.
304000 my radiator has just split
all show no go
180000 radiator busted
200000 alternator started draining the battery when turned off.
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
So it's fair to say that by the time 200,000k have ticked over the majority of posted failures will have happened. I am going to replace the crank angle sensor, fuel pump and ignition barrel very soon because I can feel they won't be far off carking it.......and it always happens at the most inappropriate time.
230000 valley cover gaskets
230000 head gasket
