Im swapping my clubby motor over at the moment due to what appears to be a crank thrust bearing failure are there any seals i should be changing while i have the motor on the stand im not doing the rear main cause
(A) It's not leaking
and
(B) it is an ass of a job
The motor that is going in has 140k on it
Cheers Doug

would be silly not to do it and find it developes leak LOL
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
its only "an ass of a job" because you have to take the motor out to do it, you already have the motor out so you may aswell get it done now rather than later.
i would probably be changing the welch plugs
they are only cheap and so much easier to do on a stand
any 2nd hand motor i buy or if i ever have to pull my engine out i change them
if you think the sump gasket might be a bit dodgy i would change that as well
Yere that is why im asking i would usually do all the seal and so on while the engine is out but this engine is mint has not been washed down at all and not a drop of oil any where all the coolant passages are clean as and the rocker gear is silver instead of burnt oil orange .
Has been really well looked after .
And dont i have to drop the crank a bit to do the rear main

But yere i think ill do the welch plugs im jus worried if i disturb the rope rear main it might start it leaking
