VR Boot lock Problems

The lock for the boot on my VR Acclaim is 'loose' and doesnt allow the boot to close properly, in addition to this the boot open latch inside the car near the fuel one doesnt open the boot.

Wondering where the problem could lie and how i go about fixing it

i had the same problem i replaced the screws in my back number plate, by coincidence the longer screws in the numberplate were interfearing with the boot lock.
