Hey Guys
Just after some general advice on my car. It is a 1995 VR II Wagon, V6 Auto, havent had it all that long and noticed a HSV compliance plate under the bonnet. How can i find out if it genuine? I havent heard of a V6 HSV, but i may be wrong. Any advice or tips on finding out its authinticity would be appricated.
Regards
put a pic up of the plate mate, there are some HSV V6's but ive not seen a wagon before.
enter the vin number into the hsv site and it should tell you if it had any hsv enhanced options. probably got some really tiny modification by hsv to get the plate, or someones just put it on there temselves. either way, it wont be anything special
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
Hey
Put the details in on the site and it came back with whats below. I can't really find any more info out there about it. I'll post some pics of the plate when the car gets home (misses has it at work).
The ISOVIN provided has successfully authenticated to be a HSV
ISOVIN XXXXXXXXXXXXX6410
MODEL
TAG VR-WAGON
COLOUR
TRIM
OPTIONS
Purchase Certificate
so you have your self a genuine HSV wagon ;-)
Would appear so, is there a site etc, to find out what enhanced options actually made it a HSV. The info from the HSV site didnt tell me much at all, only that it was a HSV and that it was a wagon, the later i already knew....
ahhahaha wanna go see if mine is now lol

I'm gunna purchase the certificate but just thought because the intial check didnt tell me anything the certificate might do the same!!Why not purchase the certificate that says what options it has?
A level 3 dash is the 4 window dash, with the electronic trip computer (usually in calais and berlina).
But that wasn't the point, it just needed a mod done by HSV (which would be as little as leather seats, steering wheel, or all the way up to a full pack of everything).
Also on your first point, there were ALOT of V6 HSVs in the VN/P days, so its not uncommon.

Any ideas on what this all means? apart from the date!!!
Take your vin number into your local holden dealer, & ask them for a printout of the build sheet.
It will list all options when new.
Best of all..........it's free!
it wont show the hsv build plate though,i know, ive tried. when i rang hsv about my ss,all they could tell me was that they have a record that the car was enhanced but they couldnt tell me exactly what was done

Like i said, it was a VS SS (so a few years newer than yours) but i'm pretty sure i've heard of people with VPs ringing up and getting the info. Just like anywhere, always try more than once.....just incase the actual person you spoke to doesn't know what they're talking about.

Hey Guys
According to HSV the vehicle comes up as a VR wagon enhanced
- Interior trim Seats
- Interior trim Doors
- Electronic Climate control
- Dash Upgrade
Thats it, so was nothing special. But it still has the badge.
They also e-mail me a copy of what the certificate looks like (attached)
Regards
The VS SS i looked at only had 'dash upgrade', so even less than yours haha
