    Default VR Intermittent coolant leak

    Hi all,

I have a weird coolant leak under the bottom radiator hose (radiator end) on the passenger side.
Took it for a spin the other day to test my days repairs.
Brought it home, & drove it straight up on some ramps for further repairs. Noticed it was dripping coolant from the above spot.
Couldnt see exactly where it was coming from.
It lost about 500ml of coolant then stopped.
    I topped it up.

Took it out for another quick spin - no leak.
Took it out later that night, 15kms or so - no leak
    Came home - no leak
My wife went to the shops & back this morning 3kms - Leak in the same spot?????

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Is the clamp done up tight.Or it might be a split in the end of the bottom hose.Sometimes they will only open up and leak once the cooling system is hot and under pressure.Maybe take off the bottom hose and have a good look over it.

Check the radiator cap, plastic tank for minute cracks, hose clamp and bottom hose as Brett suggested. The rad hose may also have a pinhole in it but unlikely. I am guessing the side tank on your radiator is done for. How many k's on the car and is it the original radiator?

    I thought radiator tanks too.
My VY split a tank side in January... but it would leak anytime the engine was running.
The VR doesnt only sometimes. It's probably done 500kms this week & leaked on 2 trips. (both short)
The Rad hoses look okay, but looks can be deceptive.
No idea how old the radiator is, only picked up this car last week. has 223km on it. (VY blew the Radiator at 200ish)
I suspected a sticky thermostat, which is building up pressure & thus leaking, but i am not sure how valid that is, Have replaced it anyway.
