Default VN/VP V6 Gearbox to VS V6, How do I go about the Electronic side of things??

    Hey Guys,
I need someone to tell me what I would need and would have to do to get the auto VS ECU to work with the Auto VN Gearbox... Or can I just run a auto VN ECU for the Ecotec <---Doubt it... Or can I just run the auto VS ECU with the VN Gearbox no problem. Or....... Do I have to mix-n-match looms and sensors etc.

    Any help appreciated.

Edit: I'm well aware that the kick-down cable is missing etc. That will be bypassed when the gearbox is built. Just need to know what I need for the Electronical side

    Thanks
    Trikk

VN auto does'nt have electronic thing in there, they are all mechanical inside except the speedo(mech to electrical). and beside you cannot bypass the kick down cable it will not control the change of gear, better rebuilt your old one if thats the issue.

If you want to run a VN auto you will def need a kickdown cable, no way of converting it to electronic. Kickdown cable off a 5L should be long enough..
Also i'd be getting a manual ECU or a manual tune for your auto PCM, either way and it should run fine.

you should be able to use a manual ecu if you rebuild your auto with a maualised valve body (stage 3 shift kit )if thats what you were after

the TV cable still controls line pressure in the trans you can get a constant pressure valve body for it but even that still needs the cable.youll loose torque convertor lockup so will rev higher than normal as well and lots of other pain in the arse issues as well

Thanks for the replys but I need to know about what ecu I need and looms etc not whether the gearbox needs a cable or not, it will be a full manual. I'm sick of the electronic gearbox...

So, has anyone accualy done this?

    Thanks
    Ben

just get the electronic box changed to full manual its way easier wont have to swap anything then.youll still have torque convertor lockup at cruise etc as well

    Delco,
No need to worry now, it's been sorted...

By the way though are you the V6 tune wizzid? I think I heard around the block you were....
I would like to get a new tune done for my car once the box is in. I have a spare memcal and everything, could ya PM me your thoughts and a price? eg. would it prefer a manual tune or what.....?

    Cheers mate
and thanks to everyone who helped.

    Regards
    Ben
